The Mola Mola at Cupsogue

with one comment

From an email from Mike Domino of Setauket, reprinted with permission:

“My daughter, Carolyn Domino of East Setauket, and her boyfriend — a “Long Island Adventurer” — Tommy O’Dwyer and his brother Will of Stony Brook were free diving with friends just a hundred yard off Cupsogue Beach in Westhampton, off Dune Road, over a centuries old ship wreck, when out of the depth came a giant 2,000 pound Ocean Mola Mola – watch this as they swim with and pet the gentle giant and largest known bone fished species on the planet. This occurred last Thursday on a pristine day in “The Hampton’s” and was documented in this amazing video.”

For more information on the Mola Mola, Mr. Domino has linked to the Wikipedia entry.
