The Bird of Prey

with one comment

Anybody who’s been reading this blog for a while knows how much I love the duck pond, and how when the weather warms up I spend hours sitting and watching the local wildlife. I was doing just this after riding my bike for the first time in months when I suddenly saw a large, dark bird spiral down and hit the water near a group of ring-necked ducks. I wish I had been ready for it.

I managed to get my camera up in time to snap a few blurry, out of focus shots of it flying back to its perch with its meal. I’m almost 99% sure it’s an osprey, despite the fact that I’ve never seen one hunt there before. A link to the original size if you’d like to see more upclose and personal and tell me what you think.
